Hi CronoFire,

I have a perspective on this.

What makes me want to wake up is the immediate direct experience of being alive. Having a body, being healthy, seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, drinking clean water, having clean air to breath, wonderful food, friends and family (even if they are not 100% reliable).

It's like someone eating a bowl of the most delicious ice cream. Who thinks "what's the point of me eating this ice cream?" -- Only someone who cannot taste the ice cream at all. That's what happens when you are depressed. You live unconsciously. You can't taste the ice cream. It, and everything else becomes meaningless to you. A long time ago I felt something that I think is really true - your senses are trying to heal you. That's one thing I do if I'm feeling bad, I seek out purely sensory experiences.
