Doing a google search I found this center that has some what a detailed list of symptoms, but is vague on treatment.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction: Overview, Facts & Treatment
You're post caught my eye as I recently had a surgery and went through some chronic pain for a while that I had lost some control over and that effected the muscles of the pelvic floor region, and I have been working with a pt to help get those along with many other muscles reactivated & Stronger.
At first it was a struggle with some of the muscles but it has gotten easier to control them as I continue to do the exercises.
I wanted to encourage you to go through with the PT, even if the doctor who prescribed the PT may not be a good fit for you... After seeing a wide range of doctors for about a half a year so far, I have noticed that the Physical therapists (and a few other docs of course) seem to be more compassionate

with observing the ones I have seen at the establishment that I go to. But I do realize that it is also personality, I am sure there are some PT's out there that are not so understanding, but from the team I have met they all seem nice and want to help others rebuild where they need to.
I will admit, It was uncomfortable for me to talk to a stranger with such a region (especially when asked if I did kegels

"that's none of your business" was my sheepishly attitude) but ya know, I had to remind myself that it is fitness and bettering and helping myself.
I hope you the best!
