Yeah I think it can... in one of my first bad depression episodes a few years back, the doc thought it was related to the pill, since I'd only gone on it six months previously, so changed the type. The depression did go away, so it was a possible cause, however it's been back recently with a vengeance... But ancedotally, yes it does affect your moods.
