reading the title of your post, I thought you were being robbed by a nice person.....lol....only thing missing was the "stick em up"......lol.
I am sure that is what it feels like also with the social workers. After my experience with the social workers in the hospital with my Mother, I don't trust them farther than I could throw them. They put down words in the charts that made them sound real good & that they were doing their jobs, but the truth was that they didn't follow up with any action to support the words they put down....it is important to make sure they follow through with what they say or even write down....unless they are pushed, they don't always follow through. I am sure there are exceptions, but from what i saw, they are bogged down in paperwork, thinking that is the answers.
You have my prayers & best wishes, but also my warning to make sure they follow through with what they say....sometimes we have to make sure we get the miricles we deserve.
