I have no idea why she'd say no to Paxil. I think you should ask her directly. I was on it almost 2 decades ago and my only issue with it was that it caused extreme drowsiness. I was only awake for the ~8 hours of school every day. After about 2 weeks, my parents realized something was wrong and my meds were switched.
