Alcoholism is a disease hon. It doesn't make us bad people if we can't stop drinking. I couldn't stop on my own. I had to get help. Just like any other disease needs treatment, so does my alcoholism.

Its been described as an allergy. We can't handle alcohol when it gets in our system, and the urges and cravings and obsession kicks in and we can't stop. Its an obsession of the mind and body.

YOU ARE NOT A BAD PERSON FOR DRINKING.

I don't know how I can make you see that. I drank every single day before I got sober. Did that make me a bad person?

You're having regret when you drink now. That's gotta tell you something. When we do something we know is bad for ourselves, we feel regreat. And you're feeling that regret.

Maybe you're starting to see that you can't do it on your own AND THAT IS OK. Its not about weakness or lack of willpower.

For people like us, once that first drop hits our bellies, we're on a roll. We can't help it. YOU'RE NOT A BAD PERSON.

If you're ready to get help now, once you see what you've posted in a few days, see that regret, then you'll be ready to get sober.

You can do it. There are several of us here who are living proof that one can be sober and HAPPY.

Again, YOU ARE NOT A BAD PERSON FOR DRINKING.
