I find practising mindfulness helps me to recognise my emotions, and recognise the emotions of others, therefore helping people to become more emotionally intelligent, as it helps people to deal with their emotions better aswell, without suppressing them, you could go to a meditation class which is usually free, or go on a retreat which you may have to pay for, and it gives people very good strategies for staying well, mentally.
I feel that a job coach is just in it for the money, but a Buddhist monk is in it to help others suffer less. When I started mindfulness, it helped my emotional intelligence massively, give it a go, especially if you can do it for free.
