you use the term ....lately.... and you use the phrasing that you know coping tools but dont use them.... you know that they work you just have chosen for some reason not to use them....
how do you pull yourselves back together? you get back on track with using those coping skills you are not using right now. they have worked in the past they will work now.
how do you pull yourselves back together? you contact your treatment providers and work with them about why you are having problems following through with using your coping skills you have been taught...
these are the two most important things when ever I start having any of my dissociation problems. I look at my present life and figure out why Im not using the coping tools I have been taught...sometimes its because Im just being lazy, other times its because my life has gotten so busy I havent taken that time to use the grounding, breathing, relaxing, and other tools that I use to cope with hard things in my life.
I also check in with my treatment providers. online is great but people online do not know my whole story, they just know the bit that I choose to post about, they cant possibly read my mind and know my whole list of problems, medications and what treatment plans for each that I am on. But my own treatment providers can listen to me face to face and know right away what can be done next...example recently I felt bogged down and dissociating constantly, nothing I was doing was working so I contacted my treatment plans and they knew right away that my problem though it seemed like a dissociative problem was in fact a medication problem. my medication was changed and Im starting to feel better again.
