Basically, I constantly have the urge to bite down on my molars. All day every day. How can I stop this? Is this a side effect of any disorder? I also feel the urge move my jaw forward, when I realize I'm biting down, in order to compensate for it. How can I stop this behavior. I just recieved a retanor today when I got my bottom braces off, so by lucky coincidence, I'm no longer hurting myself. What would happen before (when my braces were in a stage where a retainer was not needed) my teeth would be grinding whenever they would slip. When I don't grind my teeth I have feelings of anxiety and my mouth feels like my molars need to be pushed in. Whenever I catch myself I worry about chipping my teeth and also about pushing my molars back inside my jaw so that they are uneven relative to my front teeth. How do I stop this?
