Like Raynaadi said, alcoholism is a disease. There have been brain imaging studies that show alcoholics brains react differently to alcohol than do non-alcoholics. It does not make you a bad person.
Stopping any addiction is hard - believe me I know & have a few relapses under my belt to prove it. But it is possible to stop. When you're feeling better try making a list of all the pros and cons of using & i bet you'll see a lot more cons. Keep thinking of them when you feel like using.
Remember you are not a bad person, you are simply someone with an addiction and as hard as it can be that means not using is the only option. So try to get some IRL help if you need it. AA/NA meetings can be great places for support.
