Hi jman,

After a lifetime of Depressive Personality Disorder, I am not going to tell you it gets better, especially not with your conditions like BP and Tourettes. However, things can be stabilised by proper utilisation of meds - are your BP meds balanced? Are you seeing a PDoc regularly? I have BP friends on our Sister Forum who can swing from day to day if their Mood does not match their meds.

There are also the distractions of your interests you can immerse yourself in, writing and Marvel Comics. I used to be into both until a brain lesion left me with double vision. This maybe a stupid question, but do you combine writing and Marvel for your own, or other's interest?

Any light distraction from the Dark Place is a positive step. Having a young Grandson living with me gives me the excuse to have inane kid's tv shows on the tv which is better than feeding the Depression with bad news. Can you access a Rural area where you can walk for a while and clear your head? Work up from there, if you are interested, to the practice of Walking Meditation. I used Meditation as a front line tool for coping until the pain I suffer made achieving clarity of mind impossible.

Above all else, talk - to family, friends, Therapists or here.

Dave.
