I have now gotten into the habit of demanding to see the work order

the last time I took the car in they tried to tell me I needed new tires. They kept insisting. Once I demanded to know the remaining tread depth in 32s they realized I knew what I was talking about and backed off.

Yes, I have a problem now with tires because after a certain amount of years the Tire Store won't deal with the tires and won't provide the free rotation and tire change-over to winter tires,
even if they still have wear, like with my snow tires. I pointed out that the treads - were totally fine - with the tire guy - but they (The Tire Store) go by years...that's how they get you. So now I have to find someone else to put on the snow tires (snow forecasted for Monday)...which is going to be my friendly neighborhood mechanic. I am finding that because my anxiety has increased this year --- all the things I used to handle without a problem in the past have now become a big deal. I would say this is the absolute worst outcome of increased anxiety. I think I just need to do things despite the anxiety --- just to prove that I can. Thanks for sharing.
