My son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was in first grade. He is in public school, now in 7th grade. The school evaluates him every year for any special needs they have to give him because of the ADHD. His case is mild. They are supposed to sit him in the front of the class and give him extra time to complete tests if he needs it.
He's doing fine in school. I'd say he is surprisingly responsible about getting his homework done and remembering his responsibilities. He likes school, but only gives the minimum effort to his school work- but that's OK with me. I encourage him, but don't push him.
