Exactly rcat. If something is a problem for a person, who am I to say "oh it is all great". person is describing something that causes them problems for years I think the whole concept of "supportive" gets a little skewed on this site

I brought example of weight because I am actually a small woman but wouldn't mind losing few pounds for health and particular clothes fitting reasons lol so when people say "oh you look good," that has no benefit to me as I have no concerns of how I look. It's not the issue. Sometimes we think we are being helpful when it's not even needed! Like when i asked my t how to avoid getting anxious paying bills and she said " oh it is normal". It's not what I asked!

Good idea with articles. The other one could also be role playing. Maybe therapist could create some scenarios and then role play. That's why I thoughtCBT could be helpful
