I started lamictal when it was restively new and there was no genetic. I had no insurance either and I think it was roughly $400 a month. I was lucky and got on the manufacturers plan where I got it free for a year (I was low income too.) sometimes that can help but the sad truth is people go without needed medication in the us all the time due to health costs-the same with not being able to see a physician when sick. It's screwed up.
