Thank you for starting this thread, Nike! I am suffering from winter depression too and hope that persons who struggle with the "deep dark" in the winter-months can support each other through it. Every winter my depression becomes worse. Sometimes it feels like I'm going to explode from the inside because of a higher level of tension and sometimes it is as if the dark hurts.

It is possible to make the symptoms weaker in their strength, but to hope that they shall disappear completely is, the way I see it, a hope that cannot be realized. So please, let all the SAD people (diagnosed or not) stick together for this winter. As we all know social support is very important for depressed people. Let us come together at this thread to share and support each other on this thread. I mean, not the "I have SAD too", but using the thread to tell what is difficult and what is not through the winter. Let us support when it's difficult and celebrate when we are able to, for a day or more, conquer the "Winter-Beast".

I use D-vitamins and at least 30 minutes of physical activity outside in day light as my main contributors in my try to lower the effect of the SAD.

Hugs to all who struggles with "Winter-Beasts"!
