It blows my mind every time I think about how expensive managing a mental illness is. I can't afford therapy, but my son and I both were in it when I was first diagnosed. Lots of time and money! I easily go through $2400 a year after insurance for pdoc visits and meds for the both of us. This is the first year I haven't ran out of money for them by the end of October. This year he and I have both been stable enough to only need pdoc visits every 2-3 months.
