It's easy to be snobbish when you can afford to be. When you have $30 to your name a week before payday and the dog chews your last spatula, you can't beat dollar stores.

We have 2 here (town of 13,000). One is a "true" dollar store where everything in the whole place is a dollar, and the other has things up to $5 or so. The "true" dollar store has a much better selection. I just put together a care package for a PC friend from Goodwill and the dollar store! And if she doesn't read this, she'll never know the difference.
