One of the points Eagleman has been making is that the "subconscious mind", in other words portions of the brain to which we do not have conscious access, exerts much more control over who we are & what we do than we would typically imagine. So, yes, I would say that there may be things stored in areas of your brain to which you have no conscious access that are at odds with what you have stored in your conscious mind... those areas of the brain which are available to you. Also, over time, we tend to wear "pathways" into our brains that electro-chemical signals typically run along. They're like ruts in an unpaved road. After a while, they can become so deep that it's difficult to steer out of them... Please pay the receptionist on your way out...
Honesty this is true. If you keep telling yourself that you don't want to be here...
How are you going to change that belief?

Kind of like you are what you eat. But in this case it is, you are what you think.

That is what your subconscious is telling you.
