Well, I don't think so. My husband, whom I've been with for 15 years and married to for almost 12, is nothing like my ex-husband. Totally and completely so. I have never feared that he will be like my ex! He has his control issues (passively) but is not aggressive, abusive and respects me and loves me. My ex-husband abused me physically, mentally and emotionally and abandoned me several times, and then also abandoned me when our baby was born. My now husband has never, ever abandoned me and I don't fear he will do so either. So, I don't see your suggestion as a correlation. Anxiety for sure - but not in the way you suggest.
