How many times have parents and caregivers raised children to be concerned with what others think and then told them to "just ignore" those same people?  Mixed messages...
Were a therapist to say that to me, I would want them to clarify what they meant. "What does 'look after me properly' mean - both in theory and practice?"
I'm sorry the meds haven't worked for you. You've given them a decent trial.
