When I'm stable I have no desire to drink...however if I'm hypo or manic I drink and use if I'm around others who do because I make impulsive bad desicions in that state. When depressed I don't use. However if I'm in a mixed episode I seek the alcohol out, it's such a miserable state to be in I'm desperate to change it. But the alcohol doesn't cause my states my state influences weather or not I use it. I don't have issues with dependency so this might be very difficult for someone with a duel-diagnosed
