The physical abuse and mental/emotional abuse started about that time. Maybe that is why I got stuck there. I don't believe I ever bonded with my mother, not with all of the neglect from her, but with her there was no physical abuse.

I certainly don't think I became wiser or more understanding at 9. I will read more on arrested development.
