Saw the doc this afternoon. It was funny I had to walk past her to get to the scale so the nurse could weigh me. I was having a coughing fit as I walked by. She looked up and said "sounds like bad bronchitis". They got my vitals. She had a listen to my lungs. Again a coughing fit while she listened. Yep, it's bronchitis. She gave me scripts for steroids, an antibiotic and an inhaler.
I about lost it at the pharmacy. When I dropped the scripts off the girl behind the counter spoke limited English. I can barely speak and I had to keep repeating myself for her. Then she tells me it will be an hour wait! Okay, I'll do some shopping and come back. I came back in an hour. Yep, the scripts were ready, but the clerk had entered something wrong in the computer so the Pharmacist had to fix that. Then my insurance refused to pay for one of the scripts because the doc had written the script for a particular drug. The pharmacist wanted to know if I wanted to wait until she could contact the doctor to straighten it out. It was 7PM on a Friday!!!! The med is the inhaler I need to be able to start breathing. I'm leaning on the pharmacy counter wheezing like a broken down freight train and she wants to know if I want to wait until Monday?!?!?!? I told them to ring it up and paid full price. At least I had the money to be able to pay for it.
