Did your memory issues resolve after the ECT stopped? If so, then chances are the same will happen this time around because the usual memory issues during ECT are temporary.
I had memory problems during ECT, particularly the first time through, but they only lasted while I was actually undergoing treatment (and they were not unexpected). The second time I went through ECT I had fewer memory issues. Both times through the ECT was very much life-saving for me. I hated having to do it, but it is something I would do again if (heaven forbid) I ever find myself in that dire condition once more.
