Wow guys,
My new farm in Kentucky has a septic tank.....they said it was cleaned out some years ago & never had any problems.....I haven't been having problems either.....but I started making sure I put rid-x down the drain every month.....just to make sure.
When I purchased the house, the kitchen sink line had lost it's bracket & the pipe was sagging in the basement. I put up a bracked & the kitchen sink kept backing up after that....worse than when it wasn't fixed. I kept putting drano down that.....but it kills the good bacteria that rid-x adds to the septic......finally had to clean the whole pipe out with an auger.....that fixed the back up problem.....so now I can use the rid-x without it being a waste.
Thanks for sharing the scotts tissue information.....I will be changing over. I have enough other problems....don't need to add the septic. You are right about the green lawn along the leach line....lol....in the draught, that was the only green part of my lawn except for where the line for backwashing my pool goes.
I do understand the smell however....the ranch where I used to board my horses at was on septic & it backed up.....the smell was definitely much worse than the horse smell.
Hope it gets cleaned out soon....sounds like that is going to be the only solution,
Debbie
