Have you applied for Medicaid? Or SSI/SSDI if you can't manage working enough to have enough money to cope? Once you get SSI medicaid is automatic and SSDI medicare is automatic.

Have you tried to find a clinic with sliding fees like community mental health or other agencies? You'd probably have to endure a waiting list but you'd get another chance at a psychiatrist and they can help with finding ways to make healthcare more affordable so you can get checked out and get labs and the like. There are programs but it's hard to know how to find them.

You can be and will eventually be fine on meds but it's a trial and error process for many of us. They should have explained that part.

If you go to an ER they are obligated to treat you regardless of ability to pay. All they are required to do is stabilize you so it wouldn't solve everything but if you are having chest pains definitely go get checked; it won't cost anything and chest pains are scary. Depending on the hospital they might also be able to help you get set up with some services.

I know it is hard. Sticking it out through not having insurance, not responding to meds, etc. has been a huge challenge for me at different times too (I was able to find a hospital that provided care for free for everything when I needed it. Rare but it does exist). I'm sorry it has to be SO hard. It's just not fair.
