It's been just my wife and me for years-- no kids and what family we have left all far away. Christmas has been just another day for us for a long, long time. I just try to remind myself that the season is about giving, goodwill, and compassion, and try not to get too cynical about the rampant materialism. But it's definitely a spectator sport for me.
