Hi,

My story is exact opposite from yours. thought i had bipolar and just got diagnosed with adhd before my pregnancy. If the adderal is working for you I would continue with what works.
My doc said i have been diagnose wrong because when i was boozing and taking my antidepressant (YOU CANNOT BE DIAGNOSED WITH BIPOLAR IF AT THE TIME YOU ARE BOOZING OR DRUGGING, MY DOC SHOWED ME THE ACTUAL DSMV HANDBOOK FOR MD's) it put me into a bad manic episode, so i assumed i was bipolar. He said the main difference is 1. distraction, and 2. With bipolar (even rapid cycling) in a 12 month period , you need only to have 4 mixed episodes or manic episodes. With ADHD you have these mixed moods daily and you have problems from childhood due to symptoms of adhd, like nonorganization, non planning etc. ,school problems etc. us adhd people go up and down throughout the day trying desperately to just function which put me into a horrible depression with really bad anxiety.. I was on depakote when they thought i was bipolar and it did seem to make a difference, but i gained a ton of weight and was in a constant fog, The meds i'm on now help me to function, not hinder my functioning. I have studied bipolar for a long time, i thought thats what i had-- any questions you may ask.

hope this helps -- Lisa
