No. I think he is trying to engage society simply because it is there. I think he is actually enjoying himself here but he doesn't really have any interest in this stuff. Does he want a car or does he want to act like he has a car so that he can engage these people. Was he really going to bomb the school or is he saying that because he knows he won't do it? He should have more confidence in his bravery and in his respect for other people.

He needs to have interests. He needs to get involved with something he really is passionate about and would not lie about.
