I've decided to go med free. I think I jumped the gun getting medicinal treatment prior to even trying to help myself through therapy. I have discovered that it's my thoughts that affect my mood not the other way around. I think CBT will be very beneficial. I'm entering a second tertiary degree, was going to do mental health nursing but I'm really really excited about potentially doing a masters of psychology instead! I'm not so sure about being diagnosed bipolar. I feel like the meds never really helped that much, just covered some symptoms. So I stopped them both last week. No Prozac no Lithium & feeling good. Pretty sure I should be fine with the sudden stopping of Prozac due to its extended half life. I know last time stopping lithium suddenly made me feel pretty bad but it was during a stressful time. & so far no weird voices or feelings of self destruction. Win win. Keep on looking on the bright side of life.
