Hello Ineedhelp54: Welcome to PsychCentral! PC is a great place to gain support as well as to obtain mental health related information. There are many knowledgeable & caring members here. The more you post, & reply to other member's posts, the more you'll gain from the time you spend here.

You know, there's nothing wrong with masturbation. During your teenage years, especially, there's allot going on inside your body in terms of hormone activity. So, at least from my perspective, I believe that masturbation is quite normal. You mentioned that you think you have anxiety. Anxiety can certainly be a contributing factor. It's a positive thing to reduce one's level of anxiety, in general. And, if you can reduce your level of general anxiety, then you may find that you feel less of a need to masturbate. But, again, there's certainly nothing wrong, in & of itself, with masturbating. So, if the fact that you masturbate is your concern, I would like to put your mind at rest. It's no big deal. Rather... focus on the anxiety you feel you have, what is causing it & how you can reduce it. I wish you well...
