What's with the pavlova deficit in the US? It's quite a typical dessert in UK.
So, you make a meringue base, then top with whipped double cream and fruit, usually strawberries and raspberries.
It's popular at Christmas time to make four or five round meringue bases, each a bit smaller than the other (or larger, depending which way you work!). Then stack, filling in between with cream and fruit, and top with a lil pyramid swirl of cream and a white chocolate star on top, it looks (a bit) like a Christmas tree!
