When my cat had his, we brought him home after and he was still a little woozy. We put the dogs outside to keep them from accidentally knocking him over or over licking him and he stood in the living room and yowled and panted a lot. We panicked because we thought he was in pain(never had had a male cat react that way post neutering) and were preparing to take him back to vet so we let the dogs back inside and as soon as he saw the dogs he stopped, curled up next to one of them and slept until the next morning.
He likes his dogs.
