Sabrina, there's a book called "I taught myself how to crochet" and its step by step, literally telling you how to hold the hook and what to do, with pictures. That's how I learned. And I've found stuff online thats helped too. I can't read patterns, they just don't make sense, so I create my own. That book is at any craft store, and even includes the hooks.
