You did what you were supposed to do, by informing her whenever you needed to take an absence from class. This is what I do also, with my professors.

Unfortunately, she seems to have come to the judgmental conclusion that because you miss a class, that you don't care about learning what she is teaching. She can't really expect someone to skip out on a funeral for her class.

I was also in a classroom a few years ago, where a professor bullied the two oldest students in the class - me and another student. I don't know if there is a connection there or not, I often wonder if professors have issues with older students. I decided to do what I needed to do to finish the course, and then forget about her. I did write up a negative review of her on the "rate your profs" website. I saw that some other former students of hers had also written negative reviews about her.
