But then therapy is not widespread in UK wereas in USA it seems commonplace.
I would definitely not travel to your sister or get on my knees and beg.
Offer an olive branch if you want but no begging. I've found begging will just get you treated like dirt.

Thank you! We are all difficult people (my family, I mean) honestly. I guess I'm lucky in that I was so desperate to stop being in pain that I was willing to go to therapy and work and change things so I wasn't miserable anymore. I guess a lot of people don't get to that point, or never realize they could make changes that would make their lives better/easier - that's probably true of people that don't have PDs or mental illness too.
I did end up sending the card, for better or for worse. That's interesting about therapy not being as widespread in the UK, I always think of British people as being more sensible than Americans

It is a lot more commonplace here than it used to be, even 20 years ago.
