It will be my parents and I this year, as they are unwell to travel and my brother's family cannot get off to come here. It makes me sad all the way around and I also miss them. I have to work a double Christmas eve and I will miss going to church for the candlelight service, it is my favorite. However, I will have off Christmas Day and that weekend which will be really nice, first time in awhile that I have any time off let alone Christmas. I decorated but felt like I was going through the motions. Usually I am filled with the holiday spirit but my heart has been heavy.

On the way home from work the other night, I saw a family and perhaps some neighbors of theirs were out and this was past 11:00; all together, bundled up, and they were putting out decorations. A gentleman was stringing lights along a roof line, some were positioning ornaments or figures, others had drinks in some of their hands that were gathered around, some women were chatting, and some kids playing. It was a touching, lovely moment that warmed my heart.
