When my gall bladder went bad, it was WAY more than twitching. It was horrendous pain and copious vomiting and it all happened pretty suddenly.

Sounds more like muscles spasms, but you probably should see your doctor to get it checked out.

Gall bladder surgery was not a big deal in my case. A couple of small incisions and done with a scope. Not even really painful to recover from.
