There is evidence that every episode you have damages your brain somewhat. The more episodes you have the more severe your bipolar will become.

Mania might seem attractive but what if you trigger it and it turns out to be dysphoric? Or you throw yourself into a severe mixed episode? I almost never have mania/hypomania that feels good and I would never risk causing a bad mania, which can happen to anyone without warning since it's just part of the illness.

I agree with the others. If you think you need your dose adjusted you need to talk to your pdoc. It is possible to feel more energetic but still be on the meds that keep the bad things away.
