Thanks everyone.
It's been two days and I'm still in a funk. Maybe it's going to take longer than I thought to pull out of this.
I think I'm going to put my tree up tomorrow night and watch "It's a Wonderful Life." Nobody but me and the cats to see the tree, but what the heck. I enjoy looking at it.
I got stuff to make myself a nice dinner on Christmas. Am thinking of taking BG for a walk in the woods Christmas Day. I know he'd enjoy it. I haven't wandered the woods at the back of my property in donkey's years. We could go exploring.
Back when family was still alive I used to ache for some down time at the holidays. It seemed like the entire month of December was non-stop with work and getting ready for the holidays, not to mention the "command performance" appearances at both families houses on Christmas Day. I used to wish I could just take off in the woods for the day and be by myself. Careful what you wish for, right? I've got the day to myself this year and it doesn't seem so grand.
