No BP chat tomorrow night. I'm visiting family and most likely dinner will be at that time.

Some ways to stay even over the holiday are:

Limit alcohol, but it's best to not drink any, especially on meds.

Try to stick to your routine as much as possible.

Think of strategies to talk to your family. If you need to beat around the bush on some topics it's ok. For instance I've already been asked if I'm working, I didn't tell them I'm trying to get disability, I told them that I'm working on my art and jewelry. Pick a hobby and say your invested in that.

REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR MEDS AS PRESCRIBED. Don't skip doses. Especially don't skip doses so you can drink. Alcohol is a DEPRESSANT, you will most likely feel bad the next day. (I know I do).

Don't go hog wild when eating. Eat regular portions of things, so you don't feel bad about over eating, or eating bad things for you. For instance, don't eat a whole batch of chocolate chip cookies, even though they taste so good, especially dunked in milk.

Have your PRN handy. If you're starting to feel a little out of control go ahead and take it. I carry around some saphris for that purpose and klonopin.

Remember that it is ok to excuse yourself. If you feel too overwhelmed you can excuse yourself from your family and regroup. Go outside (I go out to smoke), or take a short break in the bathroom or bed room.

Also remember that you can't choose family (but you can choose friends) and sometimes it's best to stay neutral when talking to them, don't pick sides if the family is fighting. I give generic answers when asked.

The most important thing is to have fun.

Good luck tomorrow. I'll be on chat in the morning and later tonight if you have any questions.
Thanks for this!
