Yes, it's possible that mangled care is letting you drop through the cracks, but since they have taken care of you in the past, I would think not.
IF it were an emergency, they would have done things differently. That they scheduled it for the future, yes, does mean it's not an emergency to them, and perhaps if it is something very serious, it's a slow progressing entity.
I would keep in touch with the MD's office (or whomever scripted these ultrasounds) and keep them abreast of any problems, esp if you hadn't really shared how things were in the first place.
