(((((((((((septembermom)))))))))))) we're here for you. i know how you feel. i was a medical mystery for many months after i had my stroke over a year and a half ago due to birth control pills. at first, since they didn't find anything besides the brain lesion, an inflammation) that would have caused it, they thought that it may have been an autoimmune disease, like ms or lupus. then, i got my regular neurologist who's a professor in neurology after months of waiting. while going through more tests, especially mri scans. for a while there, it got stranger than fiction, like i possibly had a brain infection or some wickedly rare brain disease. i wasn't even sure if i was going to live. it wasn't until october, after the 5th mri scan that confirmed that i had had a stroke. it got so weird it felt like i had one foot in this life and the other foot in the afterlife. my pdoc had to put me on klonapin because docs were absolutely freaking me out at the time. klonapin really helped me. gosh, i'm so glad it's over with. but, i know where you are because i've been there. don't be afraid to ask for help in coping with this, even if this is a temporary health issue and that you'll recover fully. i still get triggered by the word "holes" because i have brain damage from the stroke which put microscopic holes in the myelin tissue in my brain where the lesion had been (stroke-related lesions shrink over time). i hope my situation doesn't increase your anxiety about your situation. i just wanted you to know that i know where you are at, since i was there. we're here to listen. i wish the best for you. hang in there, and yes, keep up with your doc. you have a right to know and be treated for any problems you have. it's not right to be a medical mystery for long. i was one for way too long, and it ended up messing me up good. fortunately, there's help for that as well.
