Thank you for the thoughtful information on weaning/tapering off. It is one of the most commonly asked questions of the boards I frequent. It's good to know.

Tapering off is more comfortable and lends to more success because of that. The discomfort of sudden withdrawal or sudden changes tends to make us want to give up and return to the old behavior.

Although I say that I quit cigarettes cold turkey, I did actually consciously taper off first and that was helpful to me, I realize now.
