Hello,

I disagree with the people who reacted negatively to your initial post. Your concern is related to having a dissociated part of you that doesn't accept the same Christian viewpoint or goals that you have. It makes sense that this would concern you and that you want to discuss it and find ways to deal with the situation.

You have every right to want to live a Christian life and adhere to the Bible's moral principles, including avoiding porn and even song lyrics that bother your conscience. I respect you for that. Unfortunately, we live in a world where many people view the Bible as old fashioned, and those who try to live by its standards as rigid or fanatics.

Just as non-Christians don't want others to impose their religious beliefs on them, Christians who want to adhere to the Bible's moral principles don't appreciate being told that their beliefs are unnecessary or wrong.

It's important to consider, though, that religion is a volatile subject. Some of the people posting in this forum may have been hurt in the past by an experience they had with religion. Since it is triggering to others, feel free to PM me if you want to, and we can discuss it privately.
