Of course. He doesn't behave "just like my mother" but I guess there are enough similarities to trigger me.

I can see (now) that it is possible, but I don't think it is the case. I think he feels the need to control the situation (me). And I am reacting as though that desire to control is dangerous. Which it isn't, most likely.
