I went to school and got certified for medical assisting. It's fast paced and always exciting. My favorite part is getting to help and connect with patients. However like any job it has its down sides. Like getting stuck working the front desk. Pretty much any place you apply for wants both front desk and MA experience. Sometimes it can be unnerving learning how to do blood draws and injections but once you learn, it's fun. Besides most places now have someone hired specifically for drawing blood if it's not your thing. You also see some exciting stuff that sometimes you need a strong stomach for. But I'm fine with that! I always liked gross stuff lol.
Just look at the job you have now as a stepping stone. You'll eventually finish school and land a job you're comfortable with. Also remember that with a fast pace job comes stress. I can't even count the times I've left work in tears or cried on the spot. But that's part of my anxiety I have somewhat under control at the moment. I had to take time off work for awhile because of it but right now I financially can't afford to sit around so I got my butt back on meds and waited till I was stable to go back to work. I'm BP2 with PTSD and anxiety. I've thought about disability but it's just not an option right now.
Hope you find something worth your while! Make it a goal for the new year. Good luck!
