Bipolar and schizophrenia are very similar....is he taking meds for the bipolar? Also bipolar can cause transient symptoms of schizophrenia like hallucinations without it actually being schizophrenia. Is he getting help for any of his conditions or are they self diagnosed?

He has been diagnosed with bipolar and is on meds for it, along with meds for depression, anxiety. He described the hallucinations and his altered perception as possible schizophrenia at first, but then avoided using the word after.
