No, you can't ever qualify for SSDI unless/until you have worked the required number of quarters for the points prior to your being diagnosed as disabled. I missed SSDI by one quarter of time, mind you I had enough points but the final points were one quarter too early for counting...

All is not lost, though I know you feel that way now.... and truly things are really tough for you now. Others have good advice for you....

...used to be you could find a free resource at the local hospital ER with the social worker. Is that still true folks? no charge and they know everyone who has programs to help everyone... The unfortunate part of this story--your story--is that it is many many more people's story now than it used to be. We can only pray that whomever gets into the White House truly fixes things and not allow they to continue as they are.
